If anyone would like a presentation in their own neck of the woods then I am open to invitations!

Fanscinating day

Very interesting day yesterday at the CPI printworks in Chippenham. We had detailed tour of factory and input concerning self-publishing from Matador. And the hospitality was brilliant throughout!

I also got the hard copy of “The Kicking Tree” from the proofreader. Fantastic job. There were so many things. Grateful for the diligence!

Getting Started

Hi Everyone,

I’m just getting started on this new blog. You are all welcome!

The idea of this blog is to tell you about how things are going on with me as a new author with my first novel due out on 28th May 2014.

The Kicking Tree already available for preorder at Amazon at their mark down price! Amazing.

The printing will soon be under way. I’m going to the print works in Chippenham on Wednesday, 7th May to see how they do it all and the, hopefully, to make sure we get good material for the paperback edition. Sadly, I have come across one or two paperbacks recently where the binding is OK but the laminated paper is becoming delamintated – if that’s an English word.

I have my first book launch arranged thanks to the wonderful folk of St.Cross, Middleton, Leeds, on Thursday, 19th June at 7.30 pm. We are meeting in the St Cross Parish Room (inside the church) on the corner of Middleton Park Avenue and Acre Road (LS10 4HT).  This is exciting. Everyone is welcome. I will be supplying a “Pie & Pea Supper” as well as general refreshments. If you would like Pie & Peas then please let me know through my website:

More blogs soon.

Delay in Publication of “The Kicking Tree”

Just been contacted by Matador to say that unfortunately the process of publication is unlikely to be completed by 28th May as previously announced. The new date is 28th June because publication dates are always the 28th of the month. However, we strongly expect the books to be completed before then – at least in time for the launch in Middleton, Leeds on Thursday, 19th June. Just say a pray or two!

Beta-Readers Required

I am seeking Beta-Readers for the sequel to The Kicking Tree . It is called Ultimate Justice and it is to be the second book in the White Gates Adventure Series.I know that most of you won’t have read The Kicking Tree yet but I am interested in how possible it is to read the sequel without the first book among other things.

You can check out what a beta-reader does here on Wikipedia. Beta-readers are non-professional and do this because they enjoy reading and do it out of the goodness of their hearts! (In any case it is very unlikely that my work will ever make a profit!)

I will send each beta reader a pdf copy of the text together with a few tips on what would be useful to me.
